“Light itself was your first love; you loved to paint only as a means of telling about light.”

C.S. Lewis

My Story

I was raised on a small farm along the Kings River in the Central Valley of California, born into a long line of farmers and gardeners. Growing things was an integral part of my upbringing. From an early age, blossoms captivated me. Nothing quite caught my attention more than the pink blooms that covered the peach trees every Spring.

My grandparents, who lived next door, would teach me about the roses that bloomed in their yard. My mom would teach me about the hundreds of tomatoes we would plant in March. My dad would teach me about the blossoms that littered the orchard with colorful confetti.

While they worked magic with plants and flowers, I never quite got the green thumb. I loved to stare at flowers, but grow them? Not my forte. In high school, the Lord brought watercolor painting into my life. I fell in love with the process, quickly realizing that I could capture the beauty of the flowers and landscape I loved dearly—permanently. My favorite memories were no longer confined to a particular season.

I received my artistic training from Westmont College, graduating in 2020 (right as the world shut down), and began painting portraits to capture not just my own memories, but for other people who longed to remember their favorite pet or their first home where they began their family.

Now, I live and work in my little home, just five minutes away from that farm where I grew up, and have the privilege of capturing your most precious memories. I am still in awe of the blossoms each Spring, and now get to share them and create new memories with my husband, Noah, and daughter, Margot.

To remember

As I began my artistic training in college, emergent themes became evident in my work. I love to paint memories. For me, they came in the form of specific flowers and scenes from our family farm. For others, they look like a childhood home and the yard they ran around in as a kid, or a beloved pet whose lively presence can’t be forgotten. Painting these fond remembrances has become a unique joy in my work.

The Lord in his kindness has given us the gift of memory, and now it is my aim to create work that will tell the story of your most beloved ones.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
